The Monroe City School Board recently hosted a Superintendent Meet and Greet event at Martin Luther King Junior High School, located in the heart of Monroe, Louisiana.

Meet the Candidates

Three candidates are vying for the superintendent position – Sam Moore III, Serena White, and Clyde Washington. Each candidate brings a unique perspective and vision for the future of Monroe’s educational system.

Sam Moore III

Co-Interim Superintendent Sam Moore III has a strong leadership background and a proven track record of transforming schools. With his experience at Wossman High School, located on the South side of Monroe, Moore has demonstrated his ability to lead and inspire change.

Serena White

Co-Interim Superintendent Serena White is passionate about attracting high-quality teachers to Monroe’s schools. She believes that every child deserves a great teacher and is committed to providing support and resources to help teachers grow and succeed.

Clyde Washington

Executive Assistant Superintendent Clyde Washington is determined to make a difference in Monroe’s educational system. With a focus on addressing academic challenges and implementing necessary changes, Washington is ready to take on the role of superintendent.

Decision Time

The Monroe City School Board is set to choose the next superintendent during the upcoming board of education meeting on March 14 at 6 pm. The meeting will take place at the school board office on Tower Drive, giving members of the community an opportunity to witness this important decision firsthand.
