Accident – Death – Obituary News :

It is with great sadness that we report on the tragic murder of Reyna Hernandez, a 54-year-old transgender woman from Renton, Washington. The Renton Police Department confirmed that Hernandez’s body was found in a cemetery in Mexicali, wrapped in a blanket and with fatal shotgun wounds.

Disappearance and Investigation

Hernandez was last seen on February 26, leaving a home in South Renton. Friends reported her missing two days later when she failed to return home or open her hair salon in the Renton Highlands. Despite efforts by detectives to follow up on leads and serve search warrants, Hernandez remained missing for several days.

Discovery in Mexicali

On March 8, Renton police detectives were alerted to an article in Mexicali reporting an unidentified body found in a local cemetery. Mexican authorities were contacted, and Hernandez was identified over the weekend. A suspect, a 61-year-old Renton resident, was arrested in Mexico on unrelated charges, and Hernandez’s vehicle was recovered.

Domestic Violence Crime

Authorities believe that Hernandez was taken against her will in a domestic violence incident. The investigation is ongoing, with Mexicali police and U.S. Federal partners working to determine the circumstances of her death. Once confirmed, authorities will seek to extradite the suspect to face charges in the appropriate jurisdiction.

Signs of Foul Play

Hernandez’s body was found with distinctive tattoos, including images of a dog, a clock, roses with a crown, a woman in a red dress, and the name “Alex” on her right leg. The Baja California Attorney General’s Office reported that the vehicle of the person of interest matched the one used to transport Hernandez’s body to the cemetery, with additional evidence linking the suspect to the crime scene.

Our thoughts are with Reyna Hernandez’s family and friends during this difficult time. The investigation into her murder continues, as authorities work to bring justice for her untimely death.
