Authorities were alerted around 5:20 am, prompting a swift response from the Delhi Fire Services, local police, and emergency services. Four fire tenders, ambulances, and PCR vans rushed to the scene to combat the blaze and provide aid to those affected. Despite the narrow street, fire officials were able to reach the site and extinguish the flames. A thorough search of each floor led to the rescue of three men, four women, and two children who were immediately transported to Hedgewar hospital.

The police reported that the building where the fire originated has four floors with a car-parking facility on the ground floor. The fire is believed to have started in the parking lot, quickly spreading smoke throughout the entire building.

Efforts to control the fire and assist the victims were captured in a video shared on Twitter by Press Trust of India.

The tragic incident in Shastri Nagar serves as a somber reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and preparedness in residential areas. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of those who lost their lives in this devastating fire.
