A devastating fire broke out in a residential building in Shahdara, New Delhi, claiming the lives of four individuals in the early hours of Thursday. The victims, identified as Manoj (30), Suman (28), and two young girls aged five and three and a half, tragically lost their lives in the blaze.

Efforts to Contain the Fire

The fire reportedly started in the parking area of the building before quickly spreading to other parts of the structure. Due to the narrow streets in the area, firefighters faced challenges in reaching the scene but managed to extinguish the flames. Local police, along with four fire tenders, ambulances, and three PCR Vans, responded swiftly to the emergency.

Rescue and Response

Upon receiving a distress call at the Geeta Colony Police Station around 5:30 am, authorities sprang into action, rescuing nine individuals from the building. These survivors were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention. DCP Shahdara Surendra Chaudhary confirmed the rescue efforts, emphasizing the coordinated response of the emergency services in the face of such a tragic incident.
