A 41-year-old man from La Center, Keith Ryan Brown, is currently facing four criminal charges, including two counts of drive-by shooting, for his alleged involvement in two separate shootings that took place last month in Kalama and Woodland.

Brown was taken into custody on March 3 and was booked into the Cowlitz County Jail. His bail was set at $200,000, and a public defender was assigned to represent him.

Events Leading to Arrest Warrant

On February 28, Cowlitz County Superior Court Judge Patricia Fassett issued an arrest warrant for Keith Ryan Brown based on reports from two separate police departments detailing the incidents that occurred on February 3.

According to the Kelso Police Department, at 7:23 a.m. a witness reported hearing gunshots and saw a shirtless individual with a black handgun in the 600 block of North Fourth Avenue. The witness observed the man entering a dark-colored sedan after firing approximately 10 shots.

When officers arrived at the scene, the man, later identified as Brown, fled in a Chevrolet Malibu. Despite police orders to stop, Brown accelerated and evaded law enforcement.

Incident in Woodland

Woodland Police Department received a call at 7:53 a.m. reporting a shooting in the 110 block of Meadow Park Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered four bullet holes, three on the exterior of a home and one in a parked motorhome.

Further investigation revealed that two bullets had penetrated the dining room, kitchen, and bathroom before lodging into the bedroom wall. The shooting likely occurred around 7:05 a.m., as reported by a neighbor who heard four gunshots.

Security camera footage captured a dark-colored sedan passing by the victim’s residence on Hollyberry Street at 7:03 a.m., with the driver’s side window open.

Identification and Recovery of Evidence

Kelso police informed their counterparts in Woodland about the incident on North Fourth Avenue and identified Keith Ryan Brown as the suspect. A 9mm shell casing was found on Hollyberry Street, matching those discovered in Kelso.

The Chevrolet Malibu associated with Brown was located on Hollyberry Street, and a witness positively identified Brown as the individual who abandoned the vehicle.
