Man Sentenced to Prison After Striking Victim with Baseball Bat in Eugene

Upon arrival, they found a suspect, identified as Joshua Thomas Ash, armed with a handgun and a baseball bat, looking for one of the victims involved in the altercation. One of the victims informed deputies that Ash was attempting to break down the door of the room where they were seeking refuge. Without hesitation, deputies forced their way into the home and apprehended Ash without any further incident. It was determined that Ash had struck one of the victims in the head with a baseball bat, threatened them with a handgun, and was illegally in possession of firearms.

Legal Proceedings and Sentencing

Following the incident, Joshua Thomas Ash pleaded guilty to felony fourth-degree assault, felon in possession of a firearm, and three counts of menacing. On March 6, he was sentenced to 44 months in the Oregon Department of Corrections, bringing a sense of closure to the victims and the community.
