Malone made his first court appearance on Wednesday, where his bail was set at $500,000. He is currently being held at the Washington County Jail. His next court date is scheduled for November 4.

The Oakdale Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and Minnesota State Patrol all responded to the incident. Luckily, no officers or bystanders were injured during the standoff.

Malone’s criminal history includes previous convictions for theft, assault, and drug possession. He also has a pending case for kidnapping and domestic assault.

Prosecutors are seeking a lengthy prison sentence for Malone due to the seriousness of the charges and his criminal history. If convicted, Malone could face up to 40 years in prison for each attempted murder charge and up to 20 years for each assault charge.
