Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic incident unfolded at the Patna civil court in the state capital on Wednesday, resulting in the death of a 60-year-old notary advocate and leaving four others with serious burn injuries. The incident was triggered by an explosion in a power transformer inside the court premises, which led to a ball of fire engulfing the victims.

According to reports, the victims were covered in transformer oil, which caught fire and caused fatal burn injuries. The injured individuals were rushed to the Patna Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the flames spreading rapidly and leaving no chance for escape.

The deceased was identified as Devendra Prasad, a resident of Tahal Tola under Phulwarisharif police station area. Witnesses recounted how the victim was unable to get up from his desk when the flames descended upon him, burning everything in their path. The desks and papers in the vicinity were reduced to ashes by the intense heat.

Police officials and witnesses reported a loud bang followed by smoke emanating from the transformer, leading to panic among those present at the court premises. DSP (town) Ashok Kumar Singh stated that a lawyer who came into direct contact with the flames died on the spot, while four others sustained burn injuries and were hospitalized.

In the aftermath of the tragic incident, lawyers and clerks at the Patna civil court staged a demonstration demanding compensation, job opportunities, and a fair inquiry into the matter. The power division responsible for the maintenance of the transformer is under scrutiny for the explosion.
