Three suspects have been taken into custody by the police following the gruesome discovery of a dismembered body in an uncompleted building located in the Oko-Olowo area of Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.

Details of the Incident

The victim, identified as Aliu Musbau, who worked as a tricycle operator, went missing last Friday, prompting his family to raise the alarm. After days of searching, Musbau’s body was found on Sunday, with his head, two wrists, private parts, and buttocks severed from his body.

Discovery and Police Response

The owner of the building where the body was found reported the matter to the Nigeria Police station in Oloje, Ilorin West Local Government Area. The police swiftly responded to the scene and launched an investigation into the heinous crime.

Community Shock and Outrage

Chairman of the tricycle park at Alore/Isale-Banni, Mallam Gafari Imam, expressed shock and disbelief at the incident, stating that the community had never experienced such a horrific act. The family and colleagues of the deceased held a prayer for justice to be served swiftly.

Police Statement and Arrests

Police spokesperson Toun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed the arrests of three suspects in connection with the crime. The suspects were identified as Abdullahi Ibrahim, Ismaila Ajirerin, and Adeola Adeosun. The police assured the public that they are committed to ensuring justice for the victim and his family.

In a separate incident, the police apprehended three suspects who allegedly robbed a farmer in the Oko-Erin area. The suspects stole the farmer’s smartphone at gunpoint, but thanks to the diligent work of the officers, they were swiftly arrested.
