Accident – Death – Obituary News : Days after the National Investigation Agency released two CCTV clips of the suspect in the Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe blast case, a significant development has taken place. The agency has detained a person who allegedly interacted with the suspect in Ballari, a city located in the southern state of Karnataka.
The suspect, who was last seen on March 1 at the Ballari bus stand, nearly eight hours after the blast occurred, has been a key focus of the ongoing investigation. The NIA, on March 6, took four individuals from a Ballari-based “ISIS module” into custody, further intensifying the probe into the cafe blast incident.
The individual detained by the central probe agency has been identified as Syed Shabbir. His connection to the suspect and the circumstances surrounding their interaction are currently under scrutiny by authorities.
The trail of the cafe blast suspect has been meticulously reconstructed through the analysis of CCTV footage capturing his movements. The footage reveals his escape route, which involved boarding two intra-state government buses to reach Ballari before proceeding to an unidentified destination.
The initial CCTV footage shows the suspect boarding a Volvo bus (KA 47 F 4517) from a bus stop in close proximity to the cafe. Subsequently, he changed his attire approximately 3 km from the cafe, discarding the baseball cap and shirt he had been wearing and opting for a casual T-shirt instead.
The suspect’s journey continued on a state bus departing from Bengaluru to Tumkur, a town located around 60 km from the city. Surveillance footage from the bus captured the suspect without his cap and in his new attire, suggesting a deliberate attempt to alter his appearance.
Following his departure from the bus en route to Tumkur, the suspect reappeared on the CCTV trail at the Ballari bus stand around 8.58 pm, approximately six hours later. These crucial details have provided investigators with valuable insights into the suspect’s movements and potential accomplices.
