Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic accident took place in Tathawade on March 10, claiming the life of a 21-year-old engineering student from Nashik. Prathmesh Pundalik Matale, a final year chemical engineering student at Sinhagad College of Engineering, lost his life in a bike accident that occurred in front of Indira College early in the morning.
According to officials at Hinjewadi police station, Matale was returning home after meeting friends in Ravet when his bike skidded at high speed and hit a metal railing. The impact resulted in serious injuries to his chest, head, and abdomen. Passersby rushed him to a nearby private hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
The young student was interning at a company in Baner and was on his way back from work when the tragic incident occurred. The police are investigating the case further to determine the exact cause of the accident.
In a separate incident, a 73-year-old woman from Kothrud lost her life after being hit by a car near Vanaz Metro Station. Sunanda Chandrakant Sawant, a resident of Gujarat Colony, was crossing the road at Paud Road when the accident took place. The driver of the car, identified as Tukaram Bansode, has been booked by the police for further investigation.
