Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Four College Students in Chengalpattu
It was a normal Tuesday morning for four college students in Chengalpattu, as they boarded a private bus heading to Madurantakam from Melmaruvathur. Little did they know that it would be their last journey together. The tragic incident took place on the Tiruchy-Chennai highway near Sirunagalur village, where their lives were cut short in a horrifying accident.
The students, identified as M Dhanush, M Kamalesh, S Monish, and G Ravichandran, were all students of a private college in Madurantakam. As the bus was travelling along the highway, the driver suddenly realized that the bus was on a collision course with a stationary container lorry parked on the roadside. In a desperate attempt to avoid the crash, the driver swerved to the right, but it was too late for the students standing on the footboard at the rear entrance.

According to the Melmaruvathur police, the impact of the collision between the bus and the lorry was fatal for the four students. They were crushed between the two vehicles and succumbed to their injuries on the spot. The driver of the bus and the lorry were booked for negligence, along with the bus conductor who has since gone underground.
Four other passengers sustained injuries in the accident but are said to be out of danger. An inquiry is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the tragic incident and to ensure that justice is served for the lives lost.
