Early in the morning on March 7, a violent incident unfolded at the Bingham Square Apartments in Anderson, leading to chaos and confusion amongst residents. The tranquility of the 2700 block of West 16th Street was shattered as gunshots rang out, prompting a swift response from the Anderson Police Department.

Victim Hospitalized

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a male victim, later identified as Justin Fahenstock, 36, suffering from gunshot wounds. Quick action was taken to provide medical assistance, and Fahenstock was rushed to a nearby Anderson hospital where he currently remains in stable condition. The community breathed a collective sigh of relief upon hearing the positive update on Fahenstock’s health.

Suspect Apprehended

Despite the chaos of the situation, law enforcement officers were able to make an arrest in connection with the shooting. Andrew Coppess, 39, was identified as one of the alleged suspects and taken into custody. The swift apprehension of Coppess brought a sense of justice to the shaken neighbourhood.

Persons of Interest at Large

However, the investigation is far from over as two individuals, Brandon Young, 34, and Patrick Brown, 52, remain at large and are being sought by investigators.
