Man Arrested for Crashing Stolen School Bus in Laurel County, Kentucky

A London, Kentucky man has found himself in hot water after admitting to crashing a stolen school bus while under the influence of alcohol in Laurel County.

The incident took place at the intersection of Middleground Way and Sublimity School Road, where a school bus was reported to have crashed into a ditch on a Tuesday night.

According to the London Police Department, an eyewitness at the scene saw a man dressed in all black emerging from the bus and fleeing down Middleground Way towards South Laurel Road.

Officers were quick to respond and located a man matching the description running on South Laurel Road. The man was identified as John Driscoll, 26, who was found to smell strongly of alcohol.

Driscoll confessed to consuming Fireball Whiskey before stealing the school bus from South Laurel High School, leading to his arrest and subsequent detention at the Laurel County Detention Center.

As a result of his actions, Driscoll is facing a slew of charges, including operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, careless driving, illegal use of a school bus, theft, criminal mischief, failure to wear seat belts, leaving the scene of an accident, and being a fugitive.
