Shocking Revelation: Woman Admits to Taking Dead Man to Bank in Ohio
In a bizarre turn of events in Ashtabula, Ohio, Karen Casbohm and Loreen Feralo are facing charges after allegedly taking a deceased elderly man to the bank to withdraw money from his account. The shocking incident came to light when a recorded phone call made by Casbohm from jail revealed chilling details of the crime.
The Disturbing Details
According to reports from the Ashtabula Police Chief Robert Stell, Casbohm and Feralo were living in the home of the victim, Douglas Layman, but were not related to him. They had been granted permission by the bank to withdraw money from Layman’s account as long as he was present.
On March 4, the women discovered Layman dead in his home. Instead of alerting the authorities, they propped up his body in a car, drove to the bank, and withdrew approximately $900 from his account. They then dropped off his lifeless body at a local hospital.

During a recorded phone call, Casbohm allegedly confessed to the crime to a relative. When asked when the victim had passed away, she callously replied, “He died when I said he died.” She went on to explain that Layman had died while walking out the door on the afternoon of March 4.
Despite being in a wheelchair, Casbohm claimed that Feralo could not lift Layman’s body, so they enlisted the help of a male friend. When questioned about why they did not contact the authorities, Casbohm callously stated, “I just figured I would go to the bank and then to the hospital and drop him off.
