Details of the Shooting in Springdale

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has identified the individual who was shot by Springdale police on Tuesday as 30-year-old Dimitri Calvert. The tragic incident occurred on Norfolk Avenue, where Calvert was involved in damaging vehicles and threatening residents in the neighbourhood.

Upon receiving the dispatch call at 1:52 p.m., a Springdale police officer quickly arrived at the scene to confront Calvert, who was armed with a knife. Despite repeated demands to drop the weapon, Calvert refused to comply, leading to the officer using deadly force to neutralise the threat.
