Accident – Death – Obituary News :

The Discovery of Devin M. Habib

A volunteer search group from New Castle made a tragic discovery along Interstate 80. The group, led by Marcia Black and her husband Chris Black, found the body of a missing man, Devin M. Habib, 37, who had ties to New Castle. The discovery was made in the grassy median strip between the eastbound and westbound lanes of the busy highway.

The Search Efforts

Marcia and Chris Black were contacted about Habib’s disappearance and acted upon information provided by his family. They tirelessly searched the area where he was last seen, driving along Interstate 80 between 5:30 and 6 p.m. It was during this search that they spotted Habib’s body lying in the grassy median strip.

The Investigation

The state police in Mercer County, along with Mercer County Coroner John Libonati, are investigating the circumstances surrounding Habib’s death. It is believed that he was struck by a westbound vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. The police are working to determine the exact cause of death and the nature of his injuries.

The Aftermath

Following the tragic incident, a portion of the westbound side of Interstate 80 was closed from Exit 48 at Route 18 in Hermitage to the Ohio state line for several hours. The highway was later reopened after the police completed their investigation.

Devin M. Habib leaves behind four children. His brother, Joshua, has set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses, as Habib had no life insurance. Any donations received in excess of the funeral costs will be divided among his four children.

The community is coming together to support the family during this difficult time. Habib’s untimely death has left a void in the lives of his loved ones, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding his passing continues.
