Tragic Incident in Fulton Township, Wisconsin
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 20-year-old Wisconsin man has been accused of homicide after the tragic death of an 8-year-old family member in Fulton Township, Rock County. The incident took place in a home on the 5500 block of W. Miles Road, sending shockwaves through the community.
Search and Discovery
Rock County Sheriff Curtis Fell reported that officers responded to a report of a missing child at the residence around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Despite a thorough search of the home by deputies and a Fulton officer, the 8-year-old was not found. A search team consisting of deputies, officers, a K-9 unit, and a drone team scoured the area in a desperate attempt to locate the missing child.
Arrest and Investigation
During the search, officers detained a 20-year-old family member of the child under suspicious circumstances. Following the acquisition of a search warrant, a more extensive search of the residence revealed the child’s lifeless body. An autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was homicide.
The suspect, identified as Dayveon Lathrop, was subsequently arrested on charges of first-degree intentional homicide and concealing a corpse. Additional charges included child neglect causing death, possession of drug paraphernalia, and bail jumping. Lathrop is currently undergoing evaluation as the investigation continues.

Sheriff Fell expressed his condolences to the family of the victim and the community, acknowledging the profound impact of such a tragic loss. He emphasised the importance of supporting the affected family members during this difficult time.
