Bank Robbery Suspects Arrested in Bay Area and Central Valley

San Jose – Two individuals suspected in a string of bank robberies and attempted robberies across the Bay Area and the Central Valley have been apprehended, police announced on Wednesday.

The arrests were made in connection with a robbery that took place on Feb. 12 at a bank located on the 500 block of West Capitol Expressway in San Jose. During the incident, a male suspect handed a note to the teller, demanding money.

The suspect managed to flee the scene on foot after taking more than $1,000 in cash.

Further investigation by San Jose Police revealed that the primary suspect in the robbery was also responsible for similar incidents in Fremont, Modesto, and Sacramento, as well as attempted robberies in Sacramento and Milpitas.

A female suspect believed to be the getaway driver in all six incidents was also identified by detectives.

On Mar. 6, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Antioch, where an unregistered Glock handgun and ammunition were discovered.

The primary suspect, identified as 37-year-old Brandon Lopez of Antioch, along with the suspected driver, 43-year-old Tamara Bush, also from Antioch, were arrested.

Both suspects were taken into custody and booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of robbery. They are currently being held without bail, with additional charges pending in other counties.
