According to witnesses interviewed by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO), Clayton and Womack were inside an apartment where the shooting occurred, filming TikTok videos late one night in May 2023. One witness recounted seeing Clayton holding an “all-black rifle” while Womack filmed her popping out of the shower with the weapon.
As the night progressed, a man entered the room and attempted to intervene, telling Clayton that they should not be playing with the rifle. In a tragic turn of events, the man reached for the gun, which then accidentally discharged, fatally injuring Womack. Based on witness testimony, investigators believe Clayton was in possession of the rifle at the time of the incident.
