The Tragic Discovery of a Missing Man in Gaibandha

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 38-year-old man, Shariful Islam Pavel, was discovered dead in a septic tank in Raghunathpur, Sadar upazila of Gaibandha district, on Monday night. Pavel, the son of Abdus Samad Akondo and president of Ballamjhar union unit Awami League, had been missing since Saturday.

Police Investigation and Arrests

After Pavel failed to return home on Saturday, a general diary was lodged with the Sadar Police Station. On Monday, a foul odor led police to the septic tank at the house of Sirajul Islam, where Pavel’s body was found. Three individuals, including two women, were arrested in connection with the incident.

A Tragic Family Feud Unfolds

Zulfiker Rahman, chairman of Ballamjhar Union, revealed that a love story gone wrong may have been the cause of Pavel’s untimely demise. The elopement and subsequent marriage of Shila and Raihan, followed by a financial settlement with Pavel, had sparked a bitter feud between the families.

Since the registration of the marriage six months ago, tensions had been running high, with Pavel allegedly holding a grudge against the couple over the financial arrangement. This enmity ultimately led to the tragic events that unfolded in Raghunathpur.

Community Shock and Grief

The news of Pavel’s death has sent shockwaves through the tight-knit community of Gaibandha. As friends and family members mourn the loss of a beloved community leader, questions remain unanswered about the circumstances surrounding his death.

Authorities continue to investigate the case, hoping to shed light on the events that led to Pavel’s tragic end. In the meantime, the residents of Gaibandha come together to support one another during this difficult time.
