Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in the vibrant city of Indore, specifically in the Banganga area, where a young student’s life was cut short due to a senseless act of violence stemming from a trivial dispute with neighbors.
The victim, identified as Koteshwar Chourey, a bright class 11th student hailing from Raja Bagh Colony, tragically lost his life after succumbing to fatal injuries sustained in a brutal attack. The incident sent shockwaves through the community as news of the senseless act spread like wildfire.
Authorities swiftly sprang into action, leading to the arrest of seven individuals believed to be involved in the heinous crime that claimed the life of the promising young student.
The Unfortunate Turn of Events
According to the Banganga police department, the tragic incident unfolded on a fateful Monday night as Koteshwar Chourey made his way back home, only to find his main door locked. In a bid to enter his residence, he noticed a vehicle parked outside his neighbor’s house, which stood adjacent to his own.
Thinking quickly, Koteshwar decided to use the vehicle as a makeshift ladder to access his home via his neighbor’s balcony. However, his actions did not go unnoticed, and a dispute ensued with the neighbor’s family, who owned the vehicle.
What started as a misunderstanding escalated into a violent altercation, with the accused family and their associates attacking Koteshwar in the dead of night, mercilessly stabbing him multiple times with a knife.
The Arrest and Aftermath

Seven suspects, including Mahendra Yogi, Harsh Yogi, Ashok Chouhan, Hritik Chouhan, Ajay Pandit, Prem Lal Dashore, and Hitesh Prajapati, were apprehended in connection with the brutal attack. Hitesh Prajapati was identified as the perpetrator who delivered the fatal blow that claimed Koteshwar’s life.
Despite frantic efforts by family members to rush Koteshwar to a nearby hospital and later to MY Hospital for treatment, the young student tragically passed away. Additionally, Koteshwar’s cousin brother, Kuldeep, sustained serious injuries during the violent altercation.
Family members revealed that Koteshwar had an important exam scheduled at Oxford School in the Banganga area the following day, underscoring the tragic timing of the senseless act of violence.
As authorities continue their investigation and legal proceedings unfold, the family of the deceased has taken to the streets in protest, demanding justice for the untimely loss of their loved one.
