SAN JOSE — A second suspect has been apprehended in connection with a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a Saratoga man in front of a West San Jose lounge at Park Lane Plaza. The incident, which occurred on February 29, 2024, has shocked the local community and sparked an intensive investigation by the San Jose Police Department.

Arrest of Suspect

Jerald Williams Jr., a 26-year-old resident of San Jose, was taken into custody on Friday in relation to the death of 34-year-old Jose Luis Rodriguez outside the Park Lane Lounge on Moorpark Avenue near Lawrence Expressway. Williams is currently being held without bail at the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of murder. The alleged shooter, 30-year-old Dynzel Brown, was arrested on the day of the shooting and has since been formally charged.

Details of the Incident

Authorities responded to a call of a gunshot at 1:18 a.m. on the morning of the shooting at Park Lane Plaza. Upon arrival, they discovered Rodriguez gravely injured inside a vehicle parked outside the Park Lane Lounge. Tragically, Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene, marking the ninth homicide investigated by San Jose police in the year.

Mourning the Loss

A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist with funeral expenses and to support Rodriguez’s three young children. Described as a talented tattoo artist, Rodriguez’s untimely passing has been described as “absolutely heart-breaking for the family.” His vibrant personality and exceptional tattoo work had a profound impact on those around him.
