Tragic Crash Claims Lives of Nine People in Wisconsin

McCoy, Linda Byler, Lydia Byler, Orla Schrock, Ellen Schrock, Delila Schrock, Suzanna Hertzler, and an unidentified 6-month-old child who were all passengers in the van. The driver of the semi-tractor truck, Daniel G. Liddicoat, also lost his life in the collision. The van’s passengers, all residents of Virginia, were on a fateful journey that ended in tragedy.

Details of the Collision

According to investigators, the semi-tractor truck was travelling eastbound on Highway 95 when the van, heading northbound on County Road J, entered the intersection and was struck on its driver’s side. The impact caused the van to tip onto its side, skid along the highway, and catch fire, trapping two occupants inside. The van’s passengers, including a 2-year-old survivor, were ejected from the vehicle, resulting in multiple fatalities at the scene.
