Nine killed, two injured as building collapses in Pakistan

Tragedy struck the city of Multan in Pakistan as a three-storey building collapsed, claiming the lives of nine individuals and leaving two others injured. The incident, which occurred in Multan’s Mohalla Jawadian, unfolded around 3:30 a.m., prompting immediate response teams to rush to the scene.

The District Emergency Officer of Rescue 1122, Kaleem Ullah, confirmed the devastating outcome, revealing that out of the 11 individuals trapped under the debris, nine tragically lost their lives. The two survivors were swiftly transported to Nishtar Hospital, where they are currently in critical condition.

The victims of this heartbreaking event included seven members of a single family, further deepening the sense of loss and grief in the community. Among those who perished were Danish (15), Faheem Abbas (40), Ameer Ali (12), Waseem (14), Sanoobar (40), Bukhtawar Ameen (18), and Komal (13).

The collapse of the building has sent shockwaves through Multan, underscoring the urgent need for stringent safety measures and building regulations to prevent such tragedies from recurring in the future.
