WOODBRIDGE, VA — A tragic hit-and-run incident took place in the Woodbridge/Dale City area in February, resulting in the death of a pedestrian. The incident occurred late at night on February 23 at the intersection of Minnieville Road and Bobcat Court. The victim, identified as Carla Andrea Mejia, 27, of Woodbridge, was struck by a vehicle while walking along the roadway. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, leaving Mejia fatally injured.

Prince William County Police are seeking information from the public to help locate the driver and the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run. According to authorities, Mejia was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident, which may have contributed to the driver’s inability to see her. Police have recovered vehicle parts believed to be from a silver or light-colored 2009-2012 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV or a 2009-2013 Kia Sorento SUV. The vehicle likely sustained damage to the front end, wheel well, or undercarriage areas.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for any information that leads to the identification and apprehension of the driver responsible for Mejia’s death.
