Accident – Death – Obituary News :

The Tragic Incident in Frederick, Maryland

A Pikesville man’s killing seems to have originated from a bitter divorce involving the victim and the suspect’s aunt, as per investigators. Early Monday morning, authorities apprehended Keon Wilson-Hawkins, a 20-year-old from Baltimore, in connection with the murder of Brice Wendell Boots, a 65-year-old man found dead on January 10 in a vehicle abandoned in a field on Crum Road in Walkersville, Frederick County.

Background of the Incident

Reports suggest that Boots was meant to appear in Catonsville district court for a domestic violence case and a final protective order, but he failed to show up. Prosecutors revealed that Boots had expressed concerns about his safety from his estranged wife, identified as Frances Virginia Hamilton, on previous occasions.

Investigation and Arrest

The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office disclosed that detectives visited Boots’ residence in Pikesville on January 10 to look for relatives. Neighbours informed detectives that they had seen Hamilton at Boots’ house the night before, along with her nephew, who is believed to be Wilson-Hawkins. Surveillance footage obtained from a nearby business reportedly captured Hamilton and Wilson-Hawkins in the same vehicle heading to Boots’ residence.

Following a search at Boots’ house on January 11, evidence consistent with a physical altercation and Boots being forcibly taken away was discovered, according to prosecutors. Frederick County and FBI investigators examined cellphone records for Boots, Hamilton, and Wilson-Hawkins, indicating that the trio were at Boots’ house on the evening of January 9 through the early morning hours of January 10.

Legal Proceedings and Tragic Outcome

Prosecutors stated that Boots and Wilson-Hawkins left the house around 4:37 a.m. on January 10, travelling via Interstate 70 towards Frederick, eventually arriving at the 8200 block of Crum Road around 6:20 a.m. Detectives began investigating Boots’ death as a homicide based on evidence found at the scene. Wilson-Hawkins later returned to his residence in West Baltimore.

On Friday, the Frederick County grand jury indicted Wilson-Hawkins on first-degree murder, conspiracy of first-degree murder, kidnapping, and carjacking charges. Efforts to contact Hamilton were unsuccessful until she was discovered dead on February 24 in Anne Arundel County. Prosecutors suspect her cause of death to be suicide.
