St. Louis Man Faces Felony Charges After High-Speed Crash in Posey County, Indiana

A St. Louis man is facing felony charges in Indiana after authorities caught him driving up to 130 miles per hour on a highway before causing a crash. The incident occurred just after 7 p.m. on Saturday on Interstate 64 near the 12-mile marker in Indiana, just west of Evansville.

High-Speed Chase Leads to Serious Injuries

Amir Tuzlakovic, 21, has been charged with resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness, and reckless driving in connection with the crash. Court documents revealed that a driver involved in the incident suffered a broken kneecap, six broken or detached ribs, and a concussion due to the impact.

According to reports, an Indiana trooper’s radar indicated that Tuzlakovic was driving at 95 mph in a 70 mph zone. As the trooper alerted others to be on the lookout, Tuzlakovic’s speed was clocked at 130 mph. One trooper began following him, leading to the crash at State Road 165.

Concert-Goer’s Reckless Actions

Following the crash, Tuzlakovic informed authorities that he was on his way to a concert. He complied with a chemical test but refused X-rays after the collision. The tire marks at the scene suggested that he veered into the northbound lane of SR165, resulting in the collision with a truck.

Tuzlakovic was taken into custody and booked into the Posey County Jail after the crash. A court hearing has been scheduled for April 17, as per Indiana court records.

Justice Sought for Reckless Driving

The Posey County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is seeking justice for the serious injuries caused by Tuzlakovic’s reckless driving. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of speeding on highways and the potential consequences of such actions.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash and work towards ensuring accountability for those involved. The safety of all road users remains a top priority as efforts are made to prevent similar incidents in the future.
