Tragic Shooting Incident in Lakeland
The Lakeland Police Department is currently investigating a heartbreaking homicide case following a shooting in Lakeland on Monday evening. The incident took place at 1850 Cambridge Cove Circle, where officers responded to reports of gunshots at around 6:34 p.m.
Swift Emergency Response
Upon arrival at the scene, authorities discovered two individuals who had been shot. The Lakeland Fire Department and Polk County Fire Rescue quickly arrived to provide life-saving assistance. Tragically, one of the victims, a 3-year-old child, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was rushed to Lakeland Regional Health with injuries that were thankfully non-life-threatening.
Additional Fatality Reported
In a devastating turn of events, a third person involved in the shooting incident was later brought to Lakeland Regional Health by a private vehicle and was also pronounced dead. The entire community is reeling from this senseless act of violence.
