Arrest Made in San Leandro Gas Station Killing

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. – Authorities have made an arrest in connection with the tragic killing of a gas station attendant in San Leandro. The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Dennis Lee of Stockton, was taken into custody on Friday for the death of 78-year-old Wadih Badran.

Details of the Incident

Badran, who was an employee at Speedway Gas Station located at 14880 E. 14th Street, was involved in a verbal dispute with Lee on February 22nd. The altercation began after Lee was discovered loitering behind the business, according to the San Leandro Police Department.

During the confrontation, Lee reportedly approached Badran from behind and pushed him into a pole, causing severe head and neck trauma. Tragically, Badran succumbed to his injuries, dying from blunt force trauma.

Arrest and Recovery of Evidence

Following the incident, Lee fled the scene but was apprehended two weeks later near his residence in Stockton. Investigators were able to recover clothing worn by Lee during the altercation and seized two illegally possessed firearms.
