The Assault Incident in Annapolis’ Harbour House Community

Two individuals, Kierra Green and Darian Humphrey, recently pleaded guilty to assault charges after an incident that occurred in Annapolis’ Harbour House community in September. The pair will face sentencing in March, as revealed by court records. Green, a resident of Annapolis, and Humphrey, hailing from Baltimore, are said to be related, though the exact nature of their relationship was not disclosed by the police.

The Crime Scene

The assault took place on September 11, 2023, just before 6 p.m. An Annapolis Police officer responded to the area of President and Frederick Douglass streets following the sound of gunfire. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered a man who had been shot multiple times in his arms and legs, leaving a trail of blood in his wake. The victim, identified as an ex-partner of Green, was swiftly taken to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Surveillance Footage and Investigation

After examining the crime scene, investigators turned to surveillance footage from Harbour House that captured the shooting. The footage depicted Humphrey parking a silver Nissan Altima on President Street before meeting Green, who gestured towards the victim. Humphrey proceeded to approach the victim and open fire multiple times before fleeing the scene in the Nissan.

Police Intervention and Arrests

Following a tip-off identifying Humphrey as the perpetrator, the police were able to track the rented Nissan to Humphrey and his girlfriend’s grandmother. Subsequent search and seizure of the vehicle yielded incriminating evidence, leading to the arrests of both Green and Humphrey. Green pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, while Humphrey admitted to first-degree assault and a firearm offense, as per the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Legal Proceedings and Charges

Both Green and Humphrey faced a slew of charges including attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment, and conspiracy to commit murder and assault. Humphrey also faced additional firearm offenses. Since their arrest in September, the duo has been held without bail pending their sentencing in March.
