Tragic Incident in High-End Residential Complex in Gurugram

A 59-year-old woman tragically lost her life in a horrific incident that took place on Monday in Vipul Greens, a prestigious residential complex in Gurugram. The victim, identified as Ranu Shah, was brutally stabbed and her apartment was set ablaze by her mentally ill son, Atrish.

Neighbours Alert Authorities

Neighbours became aware of the situation late at night when they noticed the fire in Ranu Shah’s apartment. They immediately alerted the authorities, who responded swiftly. Despite the efforts of firefighters and police to rescue the woman, she succumbed to severe burn injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

History of Confrontations

A preliminary investigation by the police revealed that Atrish had a history of becoming agitated and frequently had confrontations with his mother. The fatal incident occurred when Ranu Shah allegedly insulted her son while her husband was not present at the time of the attack.

Legal Process Underway

Senior police officer Mayank Gupta stated that Atrish’s mental health will be assessed to determine the next steps in the legal process. The accused is currently under police custody as further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
