Accident – Death – Obituary News :

On Sunday, March 10, 2024, a disturbing incident unfolded on Linda Vista Street in Belize City, where a minor was shot and rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for treatment. The victim, identified as Rajan Thomas, a 13-year-old Belizean student and resident of Police Street, sustained gunshot injuries to the body in what appears to be a targeted attack.

Police Response and Investigation

According to police reports, the authorities received a call about a shooting on Linda Vista Street just after 9:00 pm. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered that Rajan had already been taken to the hospital. The initial investigations revealed that Rajan and another male minor had visited Shen Shen Mini Outlet on Linda Vista Street, only to find it closed. Rajan then suggested they go to “Sams,” prompting them to leave Shen Shen and head to their new destination.

As Rajan walked on Linda Vista Street, two dark-complexioned males on a motorcycle approached him and opened fire, causing the injuries. The other minor accompanying Rajan had ridden ahead, leaving Rajan vulnerable to the attack. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the police are actively investigating the incident to determine the perpetrators and their motives.

Appeal for Information

The Belize Police Department is urging anyone with information about the shooting or the individuals involved to come forward and assist in the investigation. Any details, no matter how small they may seem, could be crucial in solving this crime and bringing the responsible parties to justice.
