Tragic Accident Claims Nine Lives in Rural Clark County

Last week, a devastating accident in rural Clark County resulted in the loss of nine lives, including a 6-month-old infant. The incident took place at the intersection of State Highway 95 and County Highway J, where a van collided with a semi-tractor.

Details of the Crash

The tragic crash occurred when the semi-tractor, travelling east on the state highway, collided with the van as it entered the intersection. The van was carrying nine individuals from an Amish community in Burkes Garden, Virginia, who were visiting family in Wisconsin at the time of the accident.

Victims of the Accident

The victims of the crash have been identified as James McCoy (46), Linda Byler (44), Lydia Byler (24), Orla Schrock (24), Ellen Schrock (23), Delila Schrock (21), Suzanna Hertzler (18), and a 6-month-old infant whose name has not been released. The driver of the semi-tractor, Daniel G. Liddicoat (51) from Rewey, Wis, also lost his life in the tragic incident.

Community in Mourning

The close-knit Amish community in Burkes Garden, Virginia, is mourning the loss of their loved ones who perished in the accident. A GoFundMe page has been set up by a family friend to help with the final expenses for the victims.

The sole survivor of the van, a 2-year-old boy, was released to a family member on Monday following the devastating loss of his family members. The entire community is coming together to support each other during this difficult time.
