Tragic Accident Claims Nine Lives in Rural Clark County

Last week, a devastating accident took place in rural Clark County, claiming the lives of nine individuals, including a 6-month-old baby. The incident occurred at the intersection of State Highway 95 and County Highway J, where a van collided with a semi-tractor on Friday morning.

Details of the Accident

According to reports, the semi-tractor was travelling east on State Highway 95 when the van entered the intersection, resulting in the tragic collision. The van was carrying nine individuals from an Amish community in Burkes Garden, Virginia, who were visiting family in Wisconsin at the time of the accident.

The victims from the van have been identified as James McCoy (46), Linda Byler (44), Lydia Byler (24), Orla Schrock (24), Ellen Schrock (23), Delila Schrock (21), and Suzanna Hertzler (18). The names of the 6-month-old baby and the semi driver, Daniel G. Liddicoat (51) of Rewey, Wis, have not been released.

Community Support

Following the tragic incident, a GoFundMe page was set up by a family friend to help with the final expenses for the victims. The surviving 2-year-old boy from the van has been released to a family member, as the community mourns the loss of their loved ones.
