Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 2010 Silver Ford Edge with noticeable damage to the front end, indicating a collision had taken place. The investigation revealed that both the vehicle and the bicyclist, later identified as James Edward Summers, 34, of Franklin, Kentucky, were travelling southbound on U.S. 31-W Bypass when the collision occurred. Unfortunately, Mr. Summers was pronounced dead at the scene.

Despite the severity of the impact, the driver and passenger of the vehicle involved in the collision escaped without any injuries.
