Accident – Death – Obituary News : The tragic accident that took place on Sunday in Jaunpur has left a family from Bihar’s Sitamarhi devastated. Seven members of the Sharma family, including two children, were killed in a head-on collision with a speeding truck on the Karjag-Kerakat road.
The deceased have been identified as Gajdhar Sharma (60) and his son Anish Sharma (35), Jawahar Sharma (57) and his 17-year-old son Gautam, Sonam (34) and her eight-year-old son Yug Kumar, and Rinku (32). Two other family members were injured in the accident and are currently receiving treatment at BHU hospital.
According to the police, the tragic incident occurred when Gajadhar Sharma, along with nine family members, was on their way to Jhusi in Prayagraj to find a suitable match for his son Chandan Sharma. At around 2:30 am, their seven-seater car was hit by a speeding truck at the Kerakat Prasad intersection. The impact of the collision was so severe that the car got stuck in the truck and was dragged for 10 meters.
SHO Brijesh Gupta stated that the police were immediately informed about the accident and the injured were rushed to the district hospital for medical assistance. The authorities are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the accident.
