Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A devastating accident shook the residents of Indore on Sunday evening when a loaded truck overturned onto a car, resulting in the loss of a 35-year-old woman’s life and leaving six others injured, including three children. The tragic incident occurred at the Pedmi-Khandel turning point in the Kampel area around 4 pm, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Details of the Incident
Seven members of two families were returning from a parent-teacher meeting at their children’s school when the accident took place. The loaded truck, carrying soybean de-oiled cake from Indore to Harda, lost control at the turning point, causing it to overturn onto the car. The driver and cleaner of the truck fled the scene, leaving behind a scene of chaos and destruction.
The car was nearly flattened and severely damaged in the accident.
Rescue Operation and Victims
Kampel police chowki in-charge SI Satyendra Singh Sisodiya led the rescue operation, with the help of local residents, to extract the trapped individuals from the car. The operation lasted for one and a half hours, during which the injured children and women were rescued first, followed by the severely trapped car driver.
The victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment, where unfortunately, a woman identified as Anju Jaiswal from village Mirzapur, Dewas, succumbed to her injuries. The injured individuals include Sumit Jaiswal (40), his wife Purnima Jaiswal (35), his mother Savita (60), his son Vyomesh (3), his daughter Mitali (9), and Anju’s daughter Kavya (9). Sumit, who was driving the car, sustained critical injuries in the accident.
Investigation and Background
Anju, the deceased, was the wife of Sumit’s cousin, Anil Jaiswal. Both families decided to attend the teacher-parent meeting together as their children studied in the same class at a school in Indore. The tragic accident occurred on their way back from the meeting, leaving the families devastated.
Sumit runs a hardware shop, while Anil has a grocery shop in their respective native places. The police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the accident and have sent the body for autopsy examination to gather more information about the incident.
