Man Arrested in Connection with Corvallis Shooting Incident

Authorities in Corvallis, Oregon, have arrested a man in connection with a tragic shooting incident that left one woman dead and another seriously injured. The incident took place on Saturday evening at a home in the 1900 block of Northwest Highland Drive.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m., the Corvallis Police Department received a report of a shooting at the residence. Upon arrival, officers discovered one woman deceased and another woman with severe injuries from an apparent gunshot wound.

The injured woman was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, authorities were able to identify the suspect as 53-year-old Jerry Bruce Mitchell Sr., who had reportedly fled the scene in his vehicle.

Arrest and Custody

After an intensive search, officers located Mitchell in Northern California approximately four and a half hours later. He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody without incident.
