Arson Case in Galveston Leads to Arrest of Suspect

The quiet neighbourhood of Galveston, Texas was rocked by a tragic incident on February 29, when a fire broke out in the 700 block of 39th Street. The Galveston Police Department has confirmed that a 55-year-old woman lost her life in the blaze.

First responders arrived at the scene at around 1 a.m. and managed to rescue three individuals from the burning home. Unfortunately, Renita Hawthorne was found unconscious inside the house and despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston Trauma Center.
