Tragic Incident Strikes Ariyanaachi Village
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 55-year-old farmer lost his life and another individual was injured in a tragic accident that occurred during Shivaratri festivities at Ariyanaachi village near Veppur. The deceased, identified as P Periyasamy, was a resident of the village and a beloved member of the community.
Shivaratri Festivities Gone Wrong
As part of the week-long Rathi Manmadhan festival celebration, the villagers of Ariyanaachi were engaged in Kamutta Samy worship on Friday night. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement as everyone came together to participate in the religious rituals. However, the festive mood quickly turned somber when a spark from the crackers ignited by the villagers accidentally set off the crackers held by Periyasamy.
Tragic Consequences
The sudden explosion caused severe injuries to Periyasamy, ultimately leading to his untimely death. In addition to Periyasamy, another villager named S Ramalingam (65) was also injured in the blast and had to be rushed to the Government hospital in Veppur for medical treatment.

They swiftly sent Periyasamy’s body to the government hospital in Virudachalam for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
