Man Arrested for Hit-and-Run Crash Leaving Young Boy Hospitalized in Riverside County

A disturbing incident unfolded in Riverside County when a hit-and-run crash left a young boy hospitalized and a suspect in custody. The suspect, identified as Mlouie Qutami, 29, from Menifee, was apprehended by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

Details of the Incident

The incident took place on February 14 near the intersection of West 3rd Street and South C Street in Perris at approximately 6:36 p.m. Qutami was driving his Ram 1500 pickup truck when he collided with a parked vehicle. As he attempted to flee the scene, he struck a young boy who was crossing the street with his family.

Instead of stopping to render aid, Qutami callously sped away, leaving the injured boy lying on the road. Thankfully, witnesses observed the crash and promptly contacted the sheriff’s station for assistance.

Arrest and Charges

Following an investigation, Qutami was located on March 1 on the 24000 block of Hospitality Place in Murrieta. He was subsequently arrested on multiple charges, including hit-and-run resulting in injury, driving on a suspended license causing great bodily harm, and three outstanding felony warrants.
