SIBU, March 10: In a heart-wrenching turn of events, two of the three bodies discovered yesterday have been identified as victims of a devastating boat accident that occurred in Kapit, Malaysia. The incident has left the community in shock and mourning as the search operation continues for the remaining missing individuals.

Discovery of the Bodies

Kapit district police chief DSP Rohana Nanu revealed that the first body was found by members of the public in Batang Rajang near Lanang Bridge, while the second body was discovered floating in front of the Kapit express boat terminal. The bodies of the victims, Jack Balan and Sergeant Jonathan Lambert, were recovered in separate locations, adding to the tragic nature of the incident.

Identification of the Victims

Jack Balan, the boat’s operator, was identified by his wife after his body was found near Lanang Bridge. Sergeant Jonathan Lambert, dressed in police uniform, was recognized and taken to Kapit Hospital for further examination. The search for the third victim is still ongoing, with authorities working tirelessly to bring closure to the families of those involved.
