Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Tragic Accident Claims Life in Albuquerque

Earlier today, a devastating accident occurred on Coors Blvd and Sevilla Avenue NW, resulting in the loss of a precious life. The Albuquerque Police Department’s Fatal Crash team swiftly responded to the scene to investigate the tragic incident.

Details of the Accident

According to a statement from APD, the fatal crash involved a silver Ford Mustang travelling north on Coors Blvd. The driver of the Mustang allegedly began flashing lights and honking the horn at another vehicle near the intersection. The driver of the second vehicle interpreted this as a racing challenge but chose not to engage.

Subsequently, the driver of the Mustang, identified as 20-year-old Isaiah Sena from Albuquerque, accelerated past the other vehicle. Sena recklessly swerved around stopped traffic at the intersection and proceeded through a red traffic signal.

A black Ford Edge was travelling westbound on a green signal, making a left-hand turn onto southbound Coors Blvd. Tragically, Sena’s Mustang collided with the Edge on the driver’s side, causing both vehicles to spin into the southbound lanes of Coors Blvd. The impact resulted in the untimely death of the Edge’s driver.

Legal Ramifications

Isaiah Sena was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following the crash. However, Sena now faces serious charges of Reckless Driving and Homicide by Vehicle. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that Sena will be taken into custody once he is discharged from the hospital.

Further investigation revealed that Sena had previously been cited by APD for speeding on January 25th, 2024, for exceeding the speed limit on Unser Blvd. The same silver Ford Mustang involved in today’s tragic accident was reportedly the vehicle Sena was driving at the time of the citation.
