Arrest Made in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in Pico Rivera, Los Angeles County

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has recently apprehended a suspect in connection with a tragic hit-and-run incident that took place in Pico Rivera in March 2023. The incident resulted in the death of 36-year-old Yesenia Sanchez and left another victim, 35-year-old Virginia Saucedo, with severe injuries.

Suspect Identified and Arrested

The authorities have identified the suspect as 28-year-old Juan Figueroa Sanchez from Garden Grove. He is the registered owner of the vehicle that struck the victims. It was revealed that Sanchez’s 15-year-old brother, who did not possess a valid driver’s license, was behind the wheel at the time of the collision.

Escape to Mexico

Following the hit-and-run, investigators discovered that the juvenile suspect did not attend school the day after the incident. Figueroa Sanchez then drove his younger brother to Mexico, where the young suspect may still be residing.

Investigation Continues

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is actively pursuing leads to locate the 15-year-old suspect and bring him to justice. The tragic incident has left the community of Pico Rivera in shock and mourning for the loss of Yesenia Sanchez.
