The Alleged Cover-Up

Alicia Shoulders, a 34-year-old resident of Roanoke Rapids, is at the center of the investigation. Authorities believe that she collaborated with two others to conceal the shooting death of 18-year-old Jamari Dejon Haskins, hailing from Chesapeake, Virginia. The tragic incident took place at Shoulders’ home on the 200 block of Madison Street.

Haskins was fatally shot by 26-year-old Demarcus Tyvon Gilbert, also from Roanoke Rapids, and Gilbert later confessed to the crime during police questioning. While Gilbert has been charged with first-degree murder, Shoulders and the others at the scene are facing allegations of obstructing justice.

The Suspects

Aside from Shoulders, two other individuals have been implicated in the cover-up:

  • 18-year-old Kenneth Lamari Adkins from Emporia, Virginia
  • 30-year-old Thomas Lee Parham from Emporia, Virginia

Adkins and Parham have been apprehended and are awaiting legal proceedings for their involvement in obstructing justice.

The Hunt for Justice

Investigators have issued warrants for Shoulders’ arrest, but she has evaded authorities by relocating from her previous address. Despite attempts to contact her, Shoulders has not responded to calls or messages from law enforcement. The community is urged to come forward with any information regarding her whereabouts.
