Police Appeal for Information on Fatal Shooting in Downtown Hamilton
Police in Hamilton are seeking the public’s help in solving a daylight shooting that tragically ended the life of a 19-year-old man. The incident occurred in the bustling downtown area of the city, sending shockwaves through the community.
Details of the Incident
The fatal shooting took place on a busy Wednesday afternoon in the vicinity of King Street West and MacNab Street South. According to Det. Sgt. Daryl Reid of Hamilton Police Service’s homicide unit, the victim was walking alone on the sidewalk when a male assailant, who had apparently been lying in wait, emerged from a car and opened fire multiple times.
Authorities have determined that the shooting was targeted and not a random act of violence. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation as police work tirelessly to piece together the events leading up to the tragic incident.
Identification of the Victim
The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Alexander Circiumaru, a resident of Hamilton. Circiumaru, who sadly succumbed to his injuries despite being rushed to the hospital, was in the area for a pre-scheduled appointment. He is the second murder victim in Hamilton this year.
Description of the Suspect
The suspect, described as a male individual, was last seen wearing all-black attire and a face mask. He swiftly fled the scene in a newer model Honda Civic, believed to be black or dark grey in color, with a spoiler on the trunk.
