Tragic Train Accident Claims Lives of Three Bangladeshi Nationals in Malaysia

The Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has tragically identified two of the three victims who lost their lives in a devastating train accident that occurred in Malaysia. The two deceased individuals have been identified as Md Kamal Hossain and Md Dulal, both hailing from Comilla’s Debidwar upazila, as confirmed by the mission on Thursday.

While the nationality of the third victim, Mohammad Ali, has not been officially confirmed yet, an identity card provided by UNHCR was found in Ali’s pocket, according to Malaysian police. The three men had travelled to Malaysia in 2022 to work for Delta Creation Sdn Bhd company.

Tragic Incident in Kajang, Malaysia

The unfortunate incident took place in Kajang, Malaysia, where the three Bangladeshi men were struck by a commuter train on the railway tracks at Taman Puncak Utama Jade Hill. The victims, aged between 30 and 40, tragically lost their lives immediately upon impact, as reported by The Star, a prominent Malaysian news outlet.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar shared on Monday that the individuals had allegedly trespassed onto the tracks, leading to the fatal collision. The force of the impact hurled their bodies to the side of the railway line, rather than trapping them on the tracks.

Efforts to Recover the Bodies

Rescue efforts commenced promptly following the incident, with the bodies being recovered around 12:15 am on Monday. Subsequently, the bodies were handed over to the police for further procedures and investigation.

The Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur is actively working to repatriate the bodies of the deceased victims to their homeland, as mentioned in a Facebook post. The tragic loss of Md Kamal Hossain, Md Dulal, and Mohammad Ali has deeply saddened the Bangladeshi community in Malaysia and beyond.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time. May they find comfort and strength in the midst of this heartbreaking tragedy.
