Tragic Crash Claims Two Lives in Ulster County

More details have emerged about the devastating crash that took the lives of two individuals in Ulster County on Friday night. The incident occurred outside a popular music venue, shaking the local community to its core.

Identifying the Victims

After five days of investigation, the New York State Police have released the identities of those involved in the tragic accident. The victims have been identified as 72-year-old Donna Cristallo and 75-year-old Stephen Celuch, both residents of Kingston. The preliminary investigation revealed that the two pedestrians were attempting to cross Route 9W in Marlboro when they were struck by a southbound vehicle.

The Fatal Collision

According to the press release from the State Police, the incident took place at 1347 State Route 9W in Marlboro. Cristallo was reportedly pushing Celuch, who was in a wheelchair, across the street when they were hit by a vehicle traveling south on the road. Celuch was pronounced dead at the scene, while Cristallo was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Driver Identified

The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision has been identified as 27-year-old Angela Fischl of Newburgh. Fischl was operating a 2020 Kia Forte at the time of the accident. The vehicle continued southbound on Route 9W before being stopped by the Newburgh Town Police on North Plank Road.
