In a heartbreaking turn of events, a devastating fire in the town of Annsville, Oneida County, has claimed the life of 54-year-old firefighter Corey M. Michik. The tragedy unfolded when emergency crews responded to a call regarding a fire at Michik’s residence on Mill Road.

Identification of the Victim

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the home engulfed in flames. Despite their best efforts, the lifeless body of Corey M. Michik, a resident of Oneida, was found inside the house. It was a somber moment as the community mourned the loss of one of their own.

Community Response

Corey M. Michik was a dedicated member of the McConnellsville Fire Department, where he served with pride and commitment. The McConnellsville Fire Department, along with other local departments, responded to the fire at Michik’s home and shared his obituary on their Facebook page, paying tribute to their fallen comrade.

Family and Legacy

Michik’s passing leaves behind a grieving mother, two sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. His legacy in the firefighting community will be remembered fondly, as he was also a former member of the Taberg Fire Department and New London Fire Department.
